COMPETITIONS Anderlecht has not managed to play two good matches in a row this season. After the weak match in Latvia, the Purple & White have to go to Jan Breydel again. After the smooth win against Kortrijk, Anderlecht can make good use of the points in the battle for Play-off 1.

Cercle was able to improve its precarious situation in the standings in recent weeks by recording two victories in a row. Moreover, Cercle is not doing too well in Europe. Anderlecht will certainly have to enter Jan Breydel with a different mentality than against Club a few weeks ago. In any case, Hubert’s troops will have to make do without Augustinsson and Dendoncker who are still out. Are the players physically and especially mentally ready after the late European downer in Riga?

Anderlecht can of course do a good thing if it were to win. It would then jump to fourth place in the rankings, creating a small gap with number seven in the rankings.

Last season, Anderlecht played one of their best 45 minutes in Cercle in the regular competition and won the match 0-3. In the Play-offs, however, valuable points were lost and the match ended at a 1-1 draw.
