Best Premier League bet

Crystal Palace vs Fulham
3pm Saturday

Harry Wilson’s injury-time brace earned Fulham a thrilling 2-1 Premier League win over Brentford on Monday evening and the Cottagers are a tempting draw-no-bet selection at Crystal Palace.

Marco Silva’s attacking unit is shaping up nicely and a front six of Andreas Pereira, Sander Berge, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez started against the Bees.

Wilson, Adama Traore and Rodrigo Muniz, scorer of nine goals in 18 league starts last term, came off the bench and Fulham have found the net in ten of their last 11 top-flight fixtures.

Palace eased the pressure on manager Oliver Glasner with a 1-0 league win over Tottenham and a 2-1 EFL Cup victory at Aston Villa before last weekend’s 2-2 draw at bottom club Wolves.

However, the Eagles’ lengthy injury list includes influential midfielders Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton and they have scored just four goals in their last six league matches – three of them from centre-backs Marc Guehi and Trevoh Chalobah.

Best EFL bet

Middlesbrough vs Luton
3pm Saturday

Championship rivals Middlesbrough and Luton are underperforming according to this season’s xG data and the Hatters look an eye-catching price to win at the Riverside Stadium.

Relegated from the Premier League last term, Luton have had a tough start to the 2024-25 campaign and they were in the relegation zone before Wednesday’s 1-0 home win over Cardiff.

Their previous three home results were a 3-0 victory against rivals Watford, a 2-1 defeat to highflying Sunderland and a 1-1 draw with West Brom, while they let slip a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at Coventry on their last road trip.

Luton have kept faith in manager Rob Edwards and the summer sales of Chiedozie Ogbene, Ross Barkley and Ryan Giles allowed them to retain most of last season’s top-flight squad.

They should be competitive at this level and can cause problems for odds-on Boro, who were thumped 5-0 at home by Stoke in the EFL Cup before losing 2-0 to Bristol City and 3-0 to Coventry on their own patch recently.

Best European bet

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Sky Sports Football, 5.30pm Saturday

RB Leipzig’s 3-1 defeat at Celtic on Tuesday made it four losses out of four in the Champions League although their Bundesliga form has been decent.

A haul of 20 points from their first nine games means Leipzig are Bayern Munich’s closest pursuers in the title race but their defensive vulnerability could be exploited by Saturday’s visitors Borussia Monchengladbach.

Leipzig, who conceded nine goals in their European defeats to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool and Celtic, allowed 20 shots on goal in last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Borussia Dortmund.

Gladbach’s recent results include a 3-2 win over Heidenheim and a 4-1 rout of Werder Bremen last time out and they should trouble the home defence.
