NARRATIVE – Supporters of the Israeli football club Maccabi Tel-Aviv were attacked by groups of men. An event which revives the fear of an importation into Europe of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

These are scenes of hunting for Jews which took place on Thursday evening in the streets of Amsterdam. They took place after a football match between AFC Ajax and Maccabi Tel-Aviv. As they left the stadium, Israeli supporters were chased by attackers. Apparently organized, they engaged in lynchings of an anti-Semitic nature, which raised fears that the feared scenario of an importation, into Europe, of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was unfolding. For Israelis, this event is seen as proof that anti-Semitism is making a comeback in the West; the sign that, more than ever, no place is safe for Jews, except Israel.
