In the midst of the government crisis in Germany, not only the tone between the former traffic light coalition is becoming rougher. On X, tech billionaire Musk calls Scholz a “fool.” It is not the first time that Musk has made disparaging comments about the German government and its policies.

US billionaire Elon Musk has now spoken out about the government crisis in Germany and called Chancellor Olaf Scholz a fool. “Olaf is a fool,” the high-tech entrepreneur wrote in German on X. The head of the car company Tesla, which also produces in Brandenburg, and the space company SpaceX is expected to play an important role in the future US government under Donald Trump.

A special position is planned for Musk in which he will review the efficiency of the government apparatus and probably promote the dismissal of numerous employees. Musk had supported the right-wing populist’s election campaign with more than a hundred million dollars, a highly controversial raffle and his own appearances, using the online service X, which he took over two years ago, as a mouthpiece for the Trump campaign. Musk has more than 200 million followers there.

The alliance with Trump is likely to benefit his companies SpaceX and Tesla, which operate in highly regulated industries and regularly clashed with the authorities under the previous US administration.

After Trump’s victory, the reward for loud loyalty now awaits. Musk is likely to gain political power – and, as already the richest person on the planet, become even richer. The financial news agency “Bloomberg” estimates Musk’s fortune at around $264 billion. In the last 24 hours alone it has grown by almost 35 billion.

It is not the first time that Musk has made disparaging comments about the German government and its policies. A year ago, the far-right billionaire criticized the federal government for its “crazy” refugee policy and recommended voting for the AfD. At the time, Musk shared a video clip from a xenophobic X user calling for people to vote for the right-wing AfD party.
