Tottenham Coach Ange Postecoglou said that they were disappointed to lose 3-2 away to Galatasaray in the fourth week of the UEFA Europa League.
Postecoglou made a statement at the press conference held after the match at RAMS Park.
Evaluating the match, Postecoglou said, “It was a disappointment for us. We had good moments in the first half. We also scored the goal, but our opponent played good football. We can usually show ourselves in the second half of the matches. We did our best, but we were disappointed.” he said.
Stating that Galatasaray is a good team, the 59-year-old coach said, “We expected it to be a difficult match. We encountered a team as we expected. They have dangerous players. We lost because we could not show what we wanted in the first half. Both teams are in a good position in Europe.” he said.
Evaluating the performance of 19-year-old center forward Will Lankshear, who scored his team's first goal in the match and received a red card in the 59th minute, Postecoglou said, “He is a player who works well for the team. He added a new experience today. He must have learned something from his experiences today. Away in Europe.” It is not easy to play in the match, and we will learn from the mistakes we made.” he said.
When reminded that they were behind their opponents in playing with the ball, Ange Postecoglou said, “We lost the ball a lot in the first half. Galatasaray dominated the ball better and more. We paid the price for this by losing.” He commented:
