FC Bayern Munich achieved an important second victory in the Champions League and still has a chance of qualifying directly for the round of 16. The German record champions won 1-0 against Benfica Lisbon. Musiala scored with a header in the 67th minute to give FC Bayern victory.
What was unusual was that both teams had to reorganize their warm-up phase. Subway problems meant that many spectators did not make it to the stadium on time. That’s why it didn’t start until 9:15 p.m. on the square. And then the home game atmosphere only emerged for a very short time. The fans stopped cheering when an emergency doctor was called to the middle rank.
Barcelona wins clearly at Red Star, Inter beats Arsenal
Barcelona celebrated a clear win away against Red Star Belgrade. Hansi Flick’s team won 5:2. Martinez gave the Catalans the lead in the 13th minute. Silas equalized for the hosts in the 27th minute, before Lewandowski scored twice for the Catalans in the 43rd and 53rd minutes. Just two minutes later, Raphinha was also successful and Lopez scored Barça’s fifth goal in the 76th minute. Milson’s 2:5 in the 84th minute was just a cosmetic result.
Inter Milan achieved a 1-0 win against Arsenal with a strong Yann Sommer in goal. Calhanoglu scored the only goal of the game in the third minute of stoppage time before the break with a foul penalty.
Stuttgart loses against Atalanta, PSG against Atlético
VfB Stuttgart has to worry about qualifying for the next round. Last Bundesliga season’s runner-up lost 2-0 at home to Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo. In the Stuttgart Arena, Lookman (51st minute) scored the 1-0 lead for the guests. Shortly before the end, Zaniolo (88th) made the final score. Rieder came on as a substitute for Stuttgart in the 74th minute.
Paris Saint-Germain had to leave the field as a last-minute loser against Atlético Madrid. Correa scored the Spaniards a 2-1 win in the 93rd minute. The game started optimally for PSG. Zaire-Emery gave the French the lead after 14 minutes. However, just four minutes later, Molina equalized.
Brest won 2-1 at Sparta Prague. Swiss international Fernandes scored the first goal in the 37th minute. The second goal was an own goal from Kairinen in the 80th minute. Shortly after, Fernandes had done his job and was substituted. In the 92nd minute, Olatunji scored the consolation goal for the Czechs.
