Democrat candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday won the party’s stronghold of Vermont. The state has voted in favour of Democratic candidates in the previous eight presidential elections.
However, his Republican rival Donald Trump secured victory in Indiana, Kentucky and West Virgina. The former president received 11 electoral votes over Democrat Kamala Harris in reliably conservative state, Indiana, where Republicans have held the governor’s office for 20 years.
Meanwhile, Republican governor Phil Scott secured his fifth term defeating Democratic rival Esther Charlestin, alongside other candidates including independents Kevin Hoyt, Eli “Poa” Mutino, and minor party candidate June Goodband.
