Sami Zayn is one step closer to rejoining the original Bloodline. Monday night on Rawafter a heated exchange between Jimmy Uso and Zayn, it was “Main Event” Jey Uso who gave Zayn his seal of approval.
Though he had dismissed Zayn as “not family” just a week before, Jey admitted, “I was wrong. Just because he’s not blood-related, that don’t make him family? He is family. Right now, I see Jimmy Uso. I see Jey Uso. And I see Sami Uso.”
Maybe the YEET written all over Jey’s YEET sunglasses is clouding his vision because I see a manipulator ready to betray the Samoan Dynasty — again.
That’s right, I said it. Sami Zayn is a manipulator. Don’t believe me? Let’s revisit what Zayn said when he tried to turn the tables on Jimmy, making “Big” Jim look like the bad guy:
“Before it was me and Jey. Before Roman, it was you. You and me. You were my dawg. Remember that? You were my brother. You’re the one who brought me into this family first. Remember that? And then the second things started to go bad with me and Roman, what happened? You kicked me in the face. And then, when things got bad with you guys and Roman, what did you do? You kicked Roman in the face. And when Jey had an opportunity to do things on his own, you kicked Jey in the face. It was always you.”
I’ll admit that Zayn made some valid points. I might’ve even sided with him if he hadn’t glossed over one crucial detail: why Jimmy superkicked him in the first place. To hear Zayn explain it, it sounds like Jimmy kicked him in the face because of a minor tiff between Zayn and Reigns.
No, my dawg. Jimmy superkicked you right after you hit Roman Reigns with a steel chair at the 2023 Royal Rumble — when his back was turned, just like that other no-good traitor, Seth Rollins. Jimmy Uso had every right to kick you in the face. Everyone in the Samoan Dynasty had the right to kick you in the face.
Since then, I’ve seen people making excuses for Zayn, portraying him as a pathetic simpleton who got caught up with the wrong crowd and wanted out when he realized the error of his ways.
Sure, that’s one way to look at it. But let’s not forget this is the same guy who once tried to put Bryan Danielson out of wrestling for good. The same guy Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro wanted nothing to do with after he ghosted them for months. That experience with Nak and Cesaro clearly taught him not to force himself on people, a strategy Zayn’s employing today as he slowly slithers back into the OG Bloodline’s good graces.
Continuing, let us remember that this is Sami Zayn, who, after getting his ass kicked by Johnny Knoxville, came crawling to The Bloodline, offering to be a snitch and an informant for help against Drew McIntyre. Most of all, this is the same Sami Zayn who once said to Reigns and the Usos: “The master strategist, Sami Zayn, that’s what I do. Yes, I get in people’s heads. I make myself comfortable in there. I’m throwing down a blanket. I’m having a picnic. I’m doing a little dance.”
Without them realizing it, Zayn did a whole Samba and enjoyed a full 12-course meal inside the minds of Reigns and his family, tricking them into thinking he was Bloodline all the way. That is until Zayn saw a way out, one that would lead him to a championship opportunity against Reigns. Seizing an opportunity at the Royal RumbleZayn struck Reigns with a chair to “protect” his longtime friend, Kevin Owens.
Soon after, Zayn made nice with Owens, and even Cody Rhodes, but it didn’t matter as he repeatedly failed to unseat Reigns at the top of WWE. Yet, along the way, he drove a wedge between Jey and his family, causing irreparable damage.
So, no. I don’t trust Sami Zayn, whose sudden reemergence on Raw should raise some eyebrows. After coming up short in another bid for a world title last month, it seems Zayn is angling for a fat paycheck by headlining WWE’s next premium live event, Survivor Series. Bloodline? This guy’s about heading to the bank line, check in hand, ready to make a huge deposit. And I’m sure the royalties he’ll receive from the new Sami Uso t-shirts will go a long way this holiday season.
Ultimately, the final say lies with Roman Reigns. With the Usos returning to SmackDown on Friday, Zayn has an invitation to join them for a serious discussion with The OTC. In the end, whatever my Tribal Chief decides, I’ll support. But if we put this to a vote, as a resident of the Island of Relevancy, when it comes to Sami Zayn rejoining The Bloodline, it’s a no YEET from me, dawg.
