Real Madrid and Milan match in the Champions League

Real Madrid ranks twelfth in the Champions League club standings with 6 points from two wins and one defeat, while Milan comes in twenty-fifth place with 3 points from one win and two defeats.

Real Madrid starting lineup:

Goalkeeper: Andrey Lunin.

Defense line: Ferland Mendy, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, Lucas Vazquez.

Midfield: Aurelien Chouamini, Luka Modric, Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham.

Offensive line: Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe.

Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, and David Alaba will be absent from Real Madrid’s ranks in this confrontation, while Rodrigo Goes returns after recovering from injury.

The match will be moderated by Slovenian international referee Slavko Vincic, who was born in 1979 and has held the international badge since 2010.

The new system for the Champions League

The amended system for the Champions League includes changes in how the qualifying teams are selected and the format of the competition, as it is now based on the league system instead of the traditional group stage, allowing a greater number of teams to participate in this major tournament.

36 teams are competing in the tournament, distributed into 4 classifications, where a draw determines the presence of two teams from each classification in the same group. Each team plays 8 matches against different clubs, 4 matches at home and 4 away, without repeating the confrontations with the same team as before.

At the conclusion of the league, those ranked from first to eighth qualify directly to the second round, while the teams from ninth to twenty-fourth places go into a playoff of two-legged matches, to determine 8 other teams who will join the direct qualifiers.

As for the teams that finish the tournament in positions 25 to 36, they will bid farewell to the tournament without moving to the European League.
