Novak Djokovic will not make the trip to Turin for the end-of-year Masters. The Serbian announced on his Instagram account on Tuesday, November 5, that he would withdraw from the tournament (which will take place from November 10 to 17), bringing together the eight best players of the year and of which he is the defending champion. “It’s an honor to have qualified for the Turin Masters. I was looking forward to it, but due to my injury I won’t be playing next week,” wrote the world number 5.

Novak Djokovic has not appeared in competition since his lost final in Shanghai (Masters 1000), against world number 1, Jannik Sinner. He had only participated in an exhibition tournament, organized from October 16 to 19, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev.

The Serb, who does not provide additional information on his physical condition, had already given up on the Masters 1000 at Paris-Bercy last week, where again he was the title holder. His withdrawal, which therefore marks the end of his season, should allow the Russian Andrey Rublev, 9th in the ATP, to take his place.
