It was not until the very last 2024 WRC round in Japan that Sami Pajari took his destiny in his hands to win the title of WRC-2 World Champion this season at the wheel of his Toyota Yaris Rally2.
Junior World Champion in 2021, the young Finnish hopeful has climbed the ranks of the pyramid quietly and surely to win three victories in 2024 (Sardinia, Poland and Greece) and become WRC-2 Champion this Sunday after only two seasons in the category, accompanied by his co-driver Enni Mälkönen.
A 2024 season which was also marked by three participations in the premier category at the wheel of a Toyota Yaris Rally1 in Finland (4th), Chile (6th) and in Europe (abandonment after leaving the road).
It is therefore a bright future that now awaits Pajari, who should reach a milestone in 2025…
In the end, Gryazin won the Japan rally ahead of the Finn and Arai.
