The biggest names in Hollywood turned out over the weekend to attend the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala presented by Gucci, held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Saturday night [2 November]. And, as with all A-list events, the fashion on display did not disappoint. From Kaia Gerber’s stunning sequinned feather gown that threatened to be overshadowed by her Cinderella moment of nearly losing her silver stiletto, to Kim Kardashian donning one of Princess Diana’s most iconic necklaces.
Yep, we told you, our fave celebs were on form. That includes Blake Lively, whose ensemble for the evening proves she got the memo. The actress posed in front of the Urban Light art installation (who needs a red carpet when you’ve got those immediately recognisable lampposts to provide the perfect photo backdrop for the gala’s arrivals?) in a metallic chainmail mini dress that merged high glamour and medieval chic with a naked dressing twist.
With a low neckline and even lower plunging back, the Tamara Ralph design from the brand’s AW23 collection consisted of gold and pink-hued crystal-embellished chainmail pieces connected together with diamond accents for yet more sparkle. The large gaps between each of the chainmail pieces created a cut-out effect, while also exposing the fact Blake was totally braless in the glittery garment. Nude nipple pasties and tiny flesh-coloured knickers were all she wore beneath the risqué dress.
Blake added a dramatic, XL, floor-sweeping orange cape with voluminous sleeves that she wore draped off-the-shoulder. To tie in with the sunset shades of her look, she had on pink crystal-embellished strappy mule heels, later kicking them off to take photos with legendary director, Baz Luhrmann – the same man behind her Vogue September photoshoot that saw her wear Elizabeth Taylor’s famous ruby and diamond necklace.
As for her blonde hair, Blake stuck to her trademark look of deep side part and loose touselled waves. She kept her makeup minimal with a subtle gold glittery eyeshadow and pink glossy lip.
After endless floral fashion ‘fits as she promoted her last film, we’re so here for this new blingy Blake era.
