One of the biggest issues voters will be considering at the polls tomorrow is the right to abortion.
Janet Williams is an abortion care provider in Pennsylvania – a state where terminations are legal up to 23 weeks and six days of pregnancy, and after that if the woman’s health is in danger.
The 59-year-old Kamala Harris supporter says that since the overturning of Roe v Wade she has treated people from all over the country, some as far as Texas, Ohio, and Atlanta.
“I don’t think Trump is good for the country, bottom line. Women need choice,” she says.
“Abortion is already a taboo for some people. You know, I should feel as comfortable saying ‘I need to have an abortion’ as saying ‘I want to get my breasts fixed’.
“Don’t take my choice away from me. I see women who choose procedures because of their finances, abusive relationships, because they were raped.
“Every woman wants to start a family, should be able to start it when she wants to, and there shouldn’t be any man anywhere telling us what we can do with our uterus,” she adds.
If Mr Trump is elected tomorrow, Ms Williams says there will be a lot of unhappy women in the country.
“Foetal mortality rates will increase. It’s not going to be a happy place, it’s not going to be a safe place and women will be trying to perform abortions on themselves,” she adds.
Ms Williams also works as a social care worker, and says she is impressed with Ms Harris’s plans to help first time buyers with the deposit on a house.
“I remember saving for my first house and how long that took, and how long I ate noodles and hot dogs for to get that money,” she adds.
“It is really good to have someone in place that has had those experiences. Harris understands, she worked in McDonald’s, she grew up in a single mother household, so she understands what’s important to struggling families,” she says.
