The former dance teacher of the Star Academy gave a moving testimony. In fact, for several years, the dancer accuses Bruno Vandelli of sexual abuse while he was her student. On the France 2 set, Yanis Marshall explained, in tears, how he was trying to rebuild himself.

Known for his choreography in stiletto heels, Yanis Marshall became a dance teacher Star Academy in 2022. If, in terms of professional life, everything seemed go for the better for the dancer, however, it was not “still not happy.”
“Career-wise, things were going pretty well for me.”, he explained. “I worked with Mariah Carey, with Celine Dion. And I was always destroying my face and wanting to die, and not being happy”indicated the choreographer, upset.
Bruno Vandelli accused of embezzlement of a minor and sexual abuse
For Yanis Marshall, it was a “question of life and death”, we had to talk and file a complaint against her ex-dance teacher, Bruno Vandelli. As a reminder, when the choreographer was only fourteen years old, the former member of the jury of Pop stars allegedly started a relationship with him.
It was only many years later that the young man was finally able to break the silence. He explained to Faustine Bollaert how he became aware of the seriousness of the situation.
“It took me ten years”
With tears in his eyes, Yanis Marshall spoke about the uneasiness that ate away at him for years. “First, I turned to alcohol, to sex. I was almost sexually addicted,” explained the choreographer. “I had this uneasiness which was beginning to set in. I felt dirty”he recalled.
“It took me at least ten years to understand what had happened to me“, added Yanis Marshall, pointing out his relationship with his former dance teacher. It was only after a few more years that the dancer decided to file a complaint against Bruno Vandelli. “We are in the middle of the procedure”explained the one who will soon celebrate his 35th birthday.
While Yanis Marshall was ousted from the Star Academy because of his fragile mental health, he embarked on a long legal battle against his former teacher. “It’s going to take years.”he lamented. Bruno Vandelli, meanwhile, was found guilty of corruption of a minor in another case. A conviction that Yanis Marshall welcomed with relief a few months ago.
