Brussels Marathon: disruptions expected this Sunday in the capital

We can read on the Brussels Mobility website that “the route will start with the northern part of the Petite Ceinture (R20), before running through Ganshoren and Jette towards Parc de Laeken and Heysel. The runners will cross the canal at from Jules de Trooz to go to the North district They will then retrace their steps, and after a second passage through Laeken, the canal will be crossed again at Van Praet. The runners will then take the Middle Belt (R21), through Schaerbeek and Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, to the Montgomery roundabout They will return to the center of Brussels via avenue de Tervueren, Parc du Cinquantenaire and rue de la Loi. from the Parc de Bruxelles, the arrival will be on the Place des Palais.”

The following tunnels will be closed: The Reyers-Montgomery tunnel towards La Cambre, the Botanique and Rogier tunnels towards Basilique, the Annie Cordy tunnel in both directions, the Reyers-Centre tunnel towards Centre, as well as the Tervueren, Cinquantenaire and Loi tunnels towards Center.

Since 7 a.m. this morning, the A12 motorway towards Brussels, at the intersection with the Ring in Strombeek-Bever, has also been closed.

Brussels Mobility advises to “avoid the area around the route by car and favor public transport and other alternatives for travel to and within Brussels.”
