Mathis Ferté nevertheless announced it at a press conference this Thursday: “We want to win away, we have prepared well, and that can only push us to win in Valencia.”
However, CA Brive suffered a real correction by conceding 42 points on the lawn of the red lantern of the Pro D2, with four Drôme tries, including two transformed, and above all six penalties, proof of the chronic indiscipline of the Corréziens.
It was also during the temporary exclusion of Da Silva just before the end of the first half that the Corréziens conceded 11 points to their opponent. The CAB, however, managed to score three tries, including two converted, by Zenon (11th), Ratuva (29th) and Hamel (61st) but it did not register any penalties. Already last year, the CAB suffered a very heavy defeat 45 to 10 in the Drôme.
After the match, at a press conference, coach Pierre-Henri Broncan did not mince his words. “We were bad, on the basics, on very simple things, that is to say ball receptions, kicking games, and even near the lines in the second half, where we had a opportunity to return to the defensive bonus”, fumes the CAB coach.
We rushed, we weren't patient! The basics are being intelligent on the pitch, and we're not.

The coach also criticized a “lack of desire on the part of Brive.” “There was a lot of desire on the part of Valence, very little on the part of Brive and rugby is a combat sport, where desire is a very important vector of performance We didn't have an opportunity this evening when we came here, we didn't know how to seize it, we didn't want to seize it in any case.” he regrets.
With this defeat, the 4th of the season, CA Brive is 4th in Pro D2, 3 points behind Biarritz (winner of Nevers) and Montauban (beaten Thursday in Colomiers).
The Corréziens will have to react next Friday with the arrival at the Colomiers Stadium, which shares with them, 4th place in the Pro D2.
