Montauban. Slaughterhouse cyclo-cross: Th. Vassal there

The edition of this cyclo-cross will be a milestone, since with nearly 25° on November 1st some runners suffered from heatstroke. From the morning, in the events reserved for cycling schools, the Tarn-et-Garonnais stood out: in the U11 category, Dylan Jacotey (CA Castelsarrasin) took first place, and his teammate Hugo Souton finished in third. At the end of the morning, among the U15s, there was no suspense since after a very good start from Valentin Deveyt (AS Villemur), it was quickly the turn of Pablo Poulhies ( VS) to take his place. Jann Gnilka (Saint-Juéry), favorite of the event returns, overtakes Pablo Poulhies, and takes a few seconds in advance; it's over, he won't be joined again. To deplore the fall of Gabin Ompraret (UC Lavedan) who was well placed, and will be forced to abandon. In U17, it was an indecisive race: Sébastien Pagot will keep Matéo Moncassin (Jurançon) and Julien Casteran ( Vélo 64) at a slight distance. Among the U19s, it was a festival on the part of Joseph Raffo (US ), in the lead from start to finish, and won ahead of Clément Bouyssou, and Antoine Colotte Nys; he was untouchable. Among the Elites, the big favorite at the finish, Hugo Roussillou, told us that he had suffered a leg failure, yet it was he who got the best start. He is joined by Thibault Vassal (UV Mazamet) who takes the lead. Thibault Vassal, an experienced runner, with several French champion titles to his name, manages his race perfectly. He managed to keep Bastien Bourdejeau (AVC Aix-en-Provence) at bay. On arrival he told us that he was having a very good day, and that the circuit suited him perfectly. In the Masters Jérôme Couderc ( cycling 82), winner of the 2023 edition, achieves the double, and beats Samuel Bodart (Cahors cycling) who, like Hugo Roussillou, fell on a day without. At the end of the event Pascal Granié President of Montauban cycling wanted to thank the runners for their commitment which had allowed the public present to see very competitive races, and wanted to thank his team of volunteers for all the work accomplished.
