The AEMET updates its forecast: rains of up to 140 liters per square meter
Five communities remain on alert today due to heavy rainfall and the storms that are going to occur during the day, and in the case of Andalusia the level es ‘rojo‘ (extreme risk) given the intense rains that are going to occur in the province of Huelvawhich in some cases can accumulate up to 140 liters per square meter.
It is also in ‘orange’ alert (significant risk) in the Valencian Community, which has suffered in recent days the most devastating effects of the dana and where the number of deceased people rises to 155, and the rains will continue throughout the day today, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency.
The ‘orange’ alert map is completed with warnings in large areas of Andalusiafrom the communities of the Islands Balearic Islands and Catalonia, and the AEMET has warned that in many places in these communities rainfall will once again exceed 100 liters per square meter today.
The community of Extremadura is also on ‘yellow’ alert (risk), where rain will accumulate 15 liters per square meter in one hour, according to information from the State Meteorological Agency.
The most important warnings, the ‘red’ level (extreme risk) are concentrated on the coast of Huelva and in Andévalo and Condado, in the province of Huelva, where forecasts indicate that up to 140 liters per square meter will accumulate during the early hours of the morning, although the rains will continue to be intense and persistent throughout the day.
