After a few eventful days, Anderlecht managed to win 0-4 in the sixteenth finals of the Croky Cup on the Tubize-Braine field. Trainer David Hubert saw room for improvement in his team, but was especially happy that his troops won the victory.
“The match went as we expected. We struggled in the first half. Tubize was well organized, we had difficulty finding openings against a double wall. The ball should have moved a little faster.” Once Kasper Dolberg scored his first of three goals, things went more smoothly. “After the 0-2 it went quickly. We didn’t want to be the negative surprise of the cup, so we achieved our mission. Without being excellent, but this has confidence for the weekend. Scoring four times, that’s not bad.”
Antwerp also showed no underestimation against Deinze and sent the second division team, who arrived much too late due to all the traffic jams around Antwerp, back to East Flanders with a heavy 6-1 score. Janssen and Chery once again stole the show in a team that hardly differed from the typical team.

With cup holder Union Sint-Gillis against AA Gent and competition leader KRC Genk against the struggling Standard – which needed extra time and a portion of luck against amateur club Lyra-Lierse on Wednesday – two very nice posters emerged from the draw on Thursday evening. Stijn Stijnen will receive a visit from his ex-club Club Brugge, and Anderlecht will face Westerlo at home.
