Due to a spontaneous strike by drivers at a number of De Lijn depots in the province of Antwerp, bus traffic was disrupted on Monday. The regions of Turnhout, Hoogstraten, Broechem, Wuustwezel, Mol, Westerlo, Oostmalle and Heist-op-den-Berg are affected. The Flemish public transport company reports this on X.
De Lijn regrets the spontaneous action and apologizes for the inconvenience and inconvenience caused to its passengers. They are advised to plan their travel in the regions involved via the route planner on the website or the app. Trips that are not driven do not appear in the route planner.

At the end of last week, social consultation led to an agreement with De Lijn. “When we returned to our supporters with a number of concessions, it turned out that people were not satisfied with them,” says secretary Stan Reusen (ACOD). “We explained to them what things would be like from January, but they did not agree. Today’s action is therefore a continued action.”
De Lijn will continue to consult with the unions on Tuesday and Wednesday, although they at ACOD hope to be able to meet together today. “We will have to see what compensation De Lijn still wants to make, we know where the pain points are,” Reusen concludes.
