Real Madrid star Luka Modrić has on Saturday night etched his name indellibly into the history books of the club.

This comes by way of his latest appearances in Blancos colours.

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.

The aforementioned Modrić, for his part, was forced to make do with a spot on the bench from the off at Balaídos, before being introduced to the fray early in the 2nd-half.

And, in the process, the Croatian international made fresh history…

This comes with Modrić, at 39 years and 40 days old, having become the oldest player to ever take to the pitch for Real Madrid.

The former Tottenham man has broken the record previously held by Hungarian icon Ferenc Puskás, set all the way back in 1966.

Not only that, but, mere minutes into his cameo, Modrić teed up Vinícius Jr. to put Los Blancos into a 2-1 lead.
