FC Bayern Munich defended its lead in the Bundesliga in a long-distance duel with RB Leipzig. Thanks to a hat trick from striker Harry Kane, the German record champions won the top game against VfB Stuttgart 4-0 (0-0). The English national team captain secured the preliminary decision in the home game against runner-up Stuttgart with his goals in the 57th, 61st and 80th minutes. Kingsley Coman scored the final point in the 89th minute.
Thanks to their success, Bayern remain leaders ahead of Leipzig, who have the same number of points, thanks to a better goal difference. SC Freiburg is third, two points behind. Stuttgart fell back to ninth place.
