There is still plenty of room for improvement at BVB even after the international break. Although the home game against FC St. Pauli was won 2-1 on Friday evening, it wasn’t a real encouragement for the difficult tasks ahead.
Nuri Sahin found positive elements in his team’s game, but the 36-year-old coach recognized a major weakness. In stoppage time, Dortmund had big problems with two long throw-ins. First, the black and yellow backline allowed Jackson Irvine to dangerously extend the ball with a header, and a little later Adam Dzwigala was allowed to finish undisturbed. BVB was lucky twice not to concede the late equaliser.
“This is an issue that doesn’t work.
