Photos from Liam Payne’s hotel room in Buenos Aires show empty champagne glasses, a white powder, aluminum foil and a broken . If further investigation confirms the presence of drugs, the police will investigate who delivered the narcotics to the British singer, according to various media.

The news channels The Nation in Clarin confirm that a white powder suspected of being cocaine was found in the hotel room in question. Photos are also circulating of aluminum foil with traces of heating, remains of a burnt candle and a broken TV set in the room at the luxury hotel.

It was previously revealed that Liam Payne may have been under the influence of drugs shortly before his death. At least that was evident from the call that the manager of the hotel where the British singer was staying made to the emergency services shortly before his fatal fall.

The manager of the hotel in Buenos Aires where Payne was staying had already called the emergency services in the Argentine capital earlier on Wednesday after, according to witnesses, the singer had misbehaved in the hotel lobby – he allegedly smashed his laptop there – and then had his hotel room beaten to pieces.

“We need urgent help for a guest who is overwhelmed by drugs and alcohol,” he said at the time, according to the Reuters news agency. “When he’s conscious, he destroys the whole room. You have to send someone. His life is also in danger, because his room has a balcony,” the manager reportedly said at the time. The contents of that conversation have now been leaked on social media.

Death trap

At 5:04 p.m. local time (10:04 p.m. in Belgium), a second call was made to the emergency services, in which hotel staff called emergency services to the scene because Payne had effectively fallen from the balcony of his hotel room on the third floor, a fall of reportedly about 12 to 13 meters that cost him his life. “Only his death could still be determined,” Argentine authorities said. “There was no longer any possibility of resuscitation.”

It is currently unclear whether Payne made an accidental fall or whether it was a conscious act. Argentine authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the singer’s death.
