Sarlat-Marcillac was logically eliminated by an R1 team which accelerated after the break.
More than 500 spectators were present on Saturday evening for a 5th round where the locals from Sarlat-Marcillac (Regional 3) hoped to achieve the feat against SA Mérignac, superior in two divisions. However, from the start, the Bordeaux suburbs put their foot on the ball. Bingol entered the area and his cross found Diaz, whose shot was remarkably deflected with his foot by the impeccable Guillaume Blanc (10th). A quarter of an hour later, it was Messaoudi’s turn to offer El Badraoui a caviar. White intervened again.
The FCSM then came out of its shell. A poorly controlled ball in the area would allow the Sarladais to cross into the area. Thomas Lehoux, alone at reception, hit the mark (1-0, 37th). The feat was underway but an unnecessary foul from Gouyou in the area allowed El Badraoui to equalize from the penalty spot before the break.
Catastrophic recovery
And the start of the second half proved catastrophic for the Sarladais. A ball lost on the left 20 m away, after a poor restart, allowed El Badroui to find M’Boup alone at 6 m. His shot crashed onto the crossbar but returned to his feet for, this time, the second goal (1-2, 46th).
The third one didn’t hang around and looked like the previous one. The center was this time taken over by Messaoudi (1-3, 57th). The Mérignacais controlled the match with a practiced and varied collective game. By keeping the ball in this way, they were not put in danger. And a free kick from 20 meters allowed Tazouti to find the top corner (1-4, 65th).
It was not over because the untenable Ylies Messaoudi overtook the Sarladaise rearguard, to close the score with a nice lob (1-5, 76th). Hard for the Sarladais.
I am disappointed by the score which is a little heavy, I think, because we produced a good copy. But this Mérignac team was complete and very technical. We will now focus on the championship and our main objective: promotion to Regional 2. (Camille Durand, coach of Sarlat-Marcillac)
