Many personalities were present to welcome the 15 new academicians. Clara Luciani, godmother of the season, dazzled the audience as soon as she entered, followed by Matt Pokora, Adeline Toniutti, Vincent Niclo and of course Pierre Garnier, last year’s big winner, ready to pass the torch. Between moving performances and little blunders on stagethe public was well served for this start of the competition which promises to be thrilling.
Paul ignites the set Star Academy on a cover of Elton John
Among the academicians, several candidates quickly attracted attention. Marguerite, Masseo, Charles and even Maureen, who made the audience shiver with a vibrant tribute to Grégory Lemarchal, set the bar very high from the start. But it was Paul who literally set studio 217 on fire with an energetic rendition of Elton John. A performance which surprised no one as the young man is influenced by certain styles of music. As he confided on set, and already clarified in an interview for France Bleu, his musical references are clear: “I am driven by rock, soul, jazz, blues, but not at all by rap”. However, there is another passion that the candidate forgot to specify.

If Paul is famous today in music, this is not the first time that he has been talked about on television. In 2019, the young talent participated in Top Chef objectiveM6’s emblematic culinary show, presented by Philippe Etchebest. On his Instagram account, we can also find a photo where he proudly poses alongside the famous chef. Moving from the stove to the spotlight of the Star Academy is not a common path, but Paul is not afraid to take on challenges. This experience under the cameras, although in a completely different register, will undoubtedly be valuable to him in understanding the cameras!
