The night of October 10 to 11 seemed almost like a catch-up session for those who had missed the previous phenomenon last May. The Northern Lights have made a comeback in France and the Centre-Val de region to the delight of professional and amateur photographers.

In these photos taken in the at Lailly-en-Val, Beaugency and Talcy (Loir-et-Cher), the sky is tinted with pink and purple to enhance some of the most beautiful places in our department.

Caused by solar storms and observable with the naked eye, the Northern Lights are even more visible through the lens of a camera.

They can also sometimes be tinged with red as in these three photos taken at Bazoche-Gouet in Eure-et-Loir, Coquilleroy and Férrière-en-Gâtinais in Loiret.

In Eure-et-Loir, the sky offers a fabulous spectacle. A little magic to forget for a few moments the painful climatic events still underway in this department.

The Cher was also well spoiled, as evidenced by this magnificent photo taken on the well pond in Argent-sur-Sauldre.

More magnificent photos taken near Berry, in Argenton-sur-Creuse (Indre). A breathtaking spectacle.

While waiting for new episodes of equally enchanting Northern Lights, the MétéoCentre association gives some advice on how to make the most of the show. First of all, “to move away from all light sources (cities) to facilitate observations, to look towards the northern horizon and take a camera (put it on long pause) to photograph them!”
