“Good luck”: while 180 missiles took off from Iran towards Israel, an Air France plane flew over Iraq for 15 minutes

On Tuesday, October 1, Air flight AF662 departing from Charles-de-Gaulle and bound for Dubai, flew over Iraq while Iran had just fired a little over a hundred missiles in the direction of Israel.

This is an incident that was taken up by the Air France health, safety and working conditions commission (CSSCT). According to information from TF1info, a plane from the French company flew over Iraq this Tuesday, October 1. Problem is, when crossing the country, nearly 180 missiles were fired by Iran towards Israel.

According to information collected by our colleagues, the aircraft took off from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle to Dubai. But while another plane of the company, which was going to Bombay, India, was diverted, Air France flight AF662 which was going to Israel was not contacted by the company to do the same.

The pilots “saw the missiles from the cockpit”

Still speaking to TF1info, the pilots of the plane assured that they had seen the missiles from the cockpit. Fortunately, the latter were traveling at a much higher altitude than that of the aircraft, thus avoiding a tragedy. Iraqi air traffic control would still have liked “good luck” to the crew.

For its part, the airline Air France explained that it had “information” on a potential attack by Iran on Israel. It would then have suspended flights over Iraqi airspace from 7 p.m. “The company’s aircraft already avoided Israeli, Lebanese and Iranian airspace. Overflight of Iraqi airspace was limited to a specific corridor used by all airlines.”
