Congolese political actors, Moise Katumbi, Martin Fayulu and Claudel-André Lubaya paid tribute, Tuesday, October 1, to the memory of Jean-Jacques Mutombo Dikembe.

They reacted in their X accounts, one day after the death of this Congolese basketball legend.

For the president of the political party Ensemble pour la République, the illustrious deceased left a great void in the hearts not only of the Congolese but also of all basketball lovers.

Moise Katumbi says he appreciated Mutombo Dikembe’s charitable vision:

« I remember his ardent desire to help the Congolese, especially the most disadvantaged, and to share his notoriety with them. His legacy, through his remarkable works, will always bear witness to the man of heart that he was. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace ».

Reacting to the death of this world basketball icon, Martin Fayulu expressed his sadness. For the president of ECIDE (Commitment to Citizenship and Development), Mutombo Dikembe was also a model of commitment and humanity. He noted that the legacy of this basketball player “will remain engraved in the memories of the Congolese”.

For his part, Claudel André Lubaya, president of the UDA-Originelle, Mutombo Dikembe was the most valuable of the Congolese, the best of us. He noted that until the end of his life, this internationally renowned basketball player was covered with an indelible aura.

For Lubaya, the life of Mutombo Dikembe should constitute a lesson for the Congolese:

« May he teach us, through his time on earth, the meaning of fulfilling a personal dream. He will be forever missed by his family, his loved ones and his country. ».
