From schools to transport, new day of strike this Tuesday, October 1, and Marseille is no exception. While Michel Barnier will deliver his general policy speech to the National Assembly at 3 p.m. The CGT, Solidaires and FSU, and youth organizations are demanding the repeal of the pension reform and an increase in wages. Schools and canteens disrupted
The Education sector is mobilizing this Tuesday. The SNES-FSU union notably called for people to join the Procession. In Marseille, a dozen municipal nurseries are closed such as that of Cadenat (3rd arrondissement), Tivoli (5th) or Montolivet (12th), indicates the City website. For schools, around forty Marseille canteens do not welcome children this Tuesday, in nearly fifty others, no service, but children could bring a picnic.
Disruptions expected for buses
The RTM is not to be outdone this October 1. The transport company indicates that bus traffic will be slightly disrupted. Some lines will increase to 50% of their usual service. The traffic situation can be found on the RTM website.
On the other hand, the metro and tram will run normally this Tuesday.
The procession route
The demonstration started at 10:30 a.m. from the Old Port of Marseille this Tuesday morning. It must pass through the Canebière to reach the Porte d’Aix.
