It is this Tuesday, October 1 that the classic Binche-Chimay-Binche (1.1) will take place. Contested over a distance of 199 kilometers, there will be many contenders to succeed the Italian Luca Mozzato.

Binche-Chimay-Binche 2024 (1.1) will take place this Tuesday, October 1 over a route of nearly 199 kilometers. As usual, it is from the main square of Binche that the start and finish of the event so dear to us will be judged Jean-Luc Vandenbroucke. Victory should, as very often, be decided on the local circuit and more precisely on the famous rue de la Nursery (450m at 4.4%). The Italian Lucas Mozzato (Arkéa-B&B Hotels) will be at the start of the event and determined to retain its title.

The route and profile of Binche-Chimay-Binche 2024

As the name of the event indicates, it is from the city of Binche that will rush Binche-Chimay-Binche 2024 (1.1) this Tuesday, October 1 for 198.5 kilometers. The participants will then take the direction of Chimaywhere the route will turn around to return towards Binche. After nearly 121 kilometers of racing, the peloton will finally enter Binche and will begin the final circuit there.

The final circuit of Binche-Chimay-Binche 2023 is a little over 16 kilometers long. Over three kilometers, when crossing the finish line, the runners are in contact, which will result in selection from behind. The victory of this Belgian semi-classic will certainly take shape during the ascent of the rue de la Pépinière (500m at 4.4%). With its cobbles and slopes, this bump located in the last kilometer generally allows strong men to compete for victory. At the top, there will be approximately 400 meters until the finish line, judged on the Place de Binchealso made of paving stones.

Binche-Chimay-Binche (also known as Mémorial Frank Vandenbroucke), is a one-day professional cycling event which takes place in Belgium. This race is included in the calendar of theUCI Europe Tourwhich makes it a category 1.1 event. It is generally held at the beginning of October.

The cycle race Binche-Chimay-Binche is an event of approximately 200 kilometers, which begins and ends at Binchea town in the Walloon region of Belgium. The course crosses the roads of the Hainaut province and generally has cobbled sections and short climbs, typical of Belgian races. This makes it a race suitable for versatile runners who excel in the Flandrian classics.
