He will have closed his career with undoubtedly his most famous role. Returning to play John Taggart this year in the final installment of the “Beverly Hills Cop” saga, American actor John Ashton has died, the «Hollywood Reporter».

Suffering from cancer, he died last Thursday in Fort Collins (Colorado) at the age of 76.

John Ashton began his career in the 1970s with appearances in the most famous series of the time (“Dallas”, “Columbo”, “Starsky and Hutch”…). But he especially burst onto the screen in the first two films of the “Beverly Hills Cop” saga with Eddie Murphy in 1984 and 1987.

He does not play in the third opus from 1994, but returns with the original cast in the last film released this year on Netflix.
