Sunday evening, TF1 ranked at the top of the evening’s audiences with “La ch’tite famille” (2018). This comedy by and with Dany Boon, Valérie Bonneton, Laurence Arné, Line Renaud and François Berléand, entertained 4,45 millions of viewers between 9:14 p.m. and 11:09 p.m., according to Médiamétrie. This represents 25,2% of the entire public aged four and over and 33,0% Women responsible for purchasing aged under 50 (FRDA-50). On Sunday September 13, 2020, the first broadcast of the film on the front page was acclaimed by 6.82 million viewers (31.1% of the public and 36.5% of the FRDA-50).
Throughout the day, TF1 easily dominated the debates with audience shares of 21,1% on the entire public and 23,8% on the FRDA-50. Second but in difficulty, France 2 recorded its weakest performance in September 2024 across the entire audience (11,9% 4+ and 6,8% FRDA-50). France 3 (9,4% of the public and 4,6% of FRDA-50) narrowly wins its match with M6 (9,2% 4+ and 16,7% FRDA-50). Arte, credited with 3,7% of audience share for those aged 4 and over, completes the top 5. Followed, in order, by C8 (3,3%), France 5 (2,9%) and TMC (2,4%). TF1 Séries Films and RMC Découverte close the top 10 of the day with an average of 2,1% audience share. Also note: Chérie 25 (2,0%) was more watched this Sunday than W9 (1,8%) and TFX (1,5%).
France 3, M6 and France 2 in a pocket handkerchief
France 3 is in second position with “Brokenwood”. The third part of season 9 of the New Zealand detective series with Neill Rea was on the program for the evening of 1,99 million of viewers between 9:06 p.m. and 10:39 p.m., the equivalent of 10,6% ages four and over and 3,0% FRDA-50s. Last Sunday, the previous episode convinced 2.14 million viewers (11.0% of those aged 4 and over and 4.0% of FRDA-50).
M6 is behind with “Capital”. The magazine, presented by Julien Courbet on the theme “Price war: Revelation on the hidden side of your labels”, interested 1,90 million of viewers between 9:13 p.m. and 11:11 p.m., i.e. 10,8% ages 4 and up. On the FRDA-50 target, the market share reached 21,0%. Two weeks earlier, the same brand had been favored by 2.18 million viewers (12.4% of those aged 4 and over and 23.0% of FRDA-50).
France 2 follows with “La daronne” (2020), a film also in rebroadcast by Jean-Paul Salomé with Isabelle Huppert. The latter intrigued 1,89 million of viewers between 9:09 p.m. and 10:52 p.m., i.e. 10,3% of the public and 5,0% FRDA-50. On Sunday March 19, 2023, the first appearance of the feature film in the France 2 cinema slot met the expectations of 3.99 million viewers (19.9% of the public and 10.1% of the FRDA-50). At the box office, the film had accumulated 421,667 admissions in France between September 2020 and June 2021.

In a completely different genre, “Man of Steel” (2013), a fantastic film directed by Zack Snyder starring Henry Cavill and Amy Adams, delighted 464.000 viewers between 9:07 p.m. and 11:27 p.m. on TFX, the equivalent of 2,8% of the public. RMC Découverte is behind with “Bring in the accused”, which sent shivers 449.000 viewers between 9:13 p.m. and 10:31 p.m. (2,4% of the public). On TF1 Séries Films, finally, “The Green Line” (1999), directed by Frank Darabont and with Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan, moved 430.000 viewers between 9:07 p.m. and 12:13 a.m., which is equivalent to 3,0% of the public.
