Today's essential tools for carrying out administrative procedures, training or exploring professional opportunities” estimates the Metropolis in a press release. The action, aimed at middle school students who do not have access to computer equipment at home, is coordinated with the principals of the colleges and their educational teams who are aware of the personal situation of each student.

“Making digital a joint project”

Today this distribution of computers responds to digital challenges from middle school, a pivotal period for the acquisition of digital skills expected within the framework of school education, for communication with the establishment, monitoring of schooling on educational platforms or even for access to rights – in particular registration procedures or school scholarships. Thanks to this donation of computers, and thanks to our partners, our community is fully playing its role to accompany, support and make digital a common project” declares Bruno Bernard, president of the Métropole de Lyon.

To sustain and extend these systems, the Lyon Metropolis has launched a €700,000 market over four years, operated by Emmaüs Connect and Weeefund, which aims to distribute 1,000 laptops to young people and 2,000 digital kits to families. by 2027.
