In view of the 2025 edition of Roland-Garros (May 25-June 8), the French Tennis Federation (FFT) has announced the introduction of a drawing system for spectators wishing to purchase tickets. The number of tickets that can be purchased by the same spectator will also be capped, specifies in a press release the organizing body of the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.
This new system mainly aims to “ensure fairness for all fans in obtaining their tickets, reduce waiting time on the official ticketing platform and (…) fight against fraud and the purchase of seats by 'bots' (software running automated tasks)“, details the country's second sports federation.
Registrations for the draw will begin on Monday January 27 on the platform https://tickets.rolandgarros.com and will end on Sunday February 9. A bailiff will then carry out the draw and participants will be informed of its result during the “first half of March“, according to the FFT.
Each spectator will be able to purchase a maximum of 4 tickets for the main courts
Also in March, the winners of the draw will receive a purchase slot which will allow them to purchase the tickets they want, subject to availability. Asked by AFP on Tuesday, the FFT was not able to quantify the total number of tickets that would be offered to spectators drawn at random. In 2024, 670,000 places had been sold for Roland-Garros, according to the federation.
Another development announced on Tuesday, each spectator will be able to purchase a maximum of four tickets for the main courts (Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen and Simonne-Mathieu). An identical ceiling is planned for the annex courts during the first week of the tournament (May 25-June 1).
During the second week of the tournament (June 2-8), spectators will be able to purchase up to 15 seats on the side courts. “FFT licensees as well as wheelchair users and people with disabilities will benefit from the same ticketing system as in previous years“, concludes the FFT.
