The International Tennis Federation carried out the draw on Monday for the first round of the 2025 Davis Cup and the French team will challenge Brazil in front of its audience on the last weekend of January.

The French selection led by Paul-Henri Mathieu will therefore face the South American nation after the draw carried out this Monday by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). A best-of-five duel (two singles then a double and two other singles possibly).

If the Blues avoid a big world nation for their entry into the 2025 Davis Cup, they will also benefit from the support of the public during this first round played on the weekend of January 31 and February 1-2. In the event of qualification, France will face the winner of Croatia-Slovakia to try to reach the Final 8.
In 2024, France beat Taiwan in the first round of the Davis Cup but was eliminated from the competition at the end of the group stage in September by finishing third in its group behind Spain and Australia.
The draw has not been as lenient with other major world tennis nations. After a first round against Switzerland, Carlos Alcaraz's Spain could challenge Novak Djokovic's Serbia in the second round. Therefore, at least one of them will not see the final phase.
