ATP > Daniil Medvedev: “I hate when someone becomes better than me. That's what motivates me, this hatred of losing, this desire to win, to improve and win bigger titles”

4e world player since this Monday, Daniil Medvedev has still not won a single trophy in 2024, a first since the 2017 season. If there is still a chance for the Russian at the Turin Masters which begins this Sunday, November 10 , the task will not be easy.

Recently interviewed by the site TennisheadDaniil explained how he manages to stay motivated.

“That’s actually a really good question because sometimes it’s not easy. It happens that when you wake up, you don't feel very well and you don't even want to go to training. Other guys will train and become better than you, and I hate it when someone becomes better than me. I like to win, I hate to lose. I love competing, I want to improve, and that's what motivates me, this hatred of losing, this desire to win, to improve and win bigger titles. This is why you have to train every day. Of course, sometimes the team and I take a few days off, but when I need to train, I'll do it. »
