the walkthrough to save Halsin and kill (easily) these 3 bosses

There are a plethora of possible routes in Baldur’s Gate 3, but to get a happy ending to its first chapter, you’ll need a perfect plan. Small solution of this part of Baldur’s Gate 3.

WARNING SPOILERS FROM CHAPTER 1

For each player, the adventure of the phenomenon Baldur’s Gate 3 is different and no trajectory is worse than another. As any roleplayer knows, there is no such thing as failure or bad luck that doesn’t make the epic tastier in the long run. It’s not it’s okay to miss a quest or even miss important in-game objectives. However, there is something else that every roleplayer knows and is worth remembering here: nothing is more satisfying than a good plan that goes off without a hitch.

And our Widescreen adventurer, half-elf as smart as she is at her wit’s end, takes it seriously to do things right and to share with the curious its most effective plans. During Chapter 1, the first major challenge will be to save a Grove where refugees and druids are threatened by a horde of fanatical goblins and an internal crisis.

While everything points to several tragic endings, there is only one solution for everything to end well. We must save the druid Halsin, and kill the priestess Haruspia, the Drow Minthara and the Dror Ragzlin. And here is our little walkthrough to get there.

When we consider all the possible scenarios

how to find halsin

When you discover the Emerald Grove, it quickly becomes clear that everything is converging on a rescue mission. Druid Halsin, in addition to being able to potentially cure you of your affliction, is the only one capable of bringing order to the refugees, where the tension between the races is tangible. This one disappeared after an excursion outside and seems prisoner of a goblin camp. It is then imperative to find Halsin and bring him back alive.

To find it, it will be necessary to meet the goblins by privileging the path of diplomacy. The quest objectives on the map will easily guide you to their camp. The creatures will then not be immediately hostile and you will have various means of infiltrating among them. The easiest way will be to use the power of the Illithid to force them to cooperate, but many other dialogue options will allow you to gain their trust.

Once inside, the complicated things begin.

how to handle goblin fight

Moving among the goblins, you will have to investigate without being detected. This means: not to cause trouble and not to be unmasked.

By dint of investigation, you will quickly understand thatHalsin is fine here, but hidden in his bear form – as can druids. He is thus retained in a jail of the fortress of the goblins, where the wargs are retained. That is to say a closed place in which you can unleash yourself in safety.

Once you talk to him, the bear will break free from his prison and attack the goblins present. The fight will be quite easy, but you will have to prevent anyone from going to warn the outside of what is happening. It is critical.

Once the situation is under control, Halsin will revert to human form, but will still refuse to follow you. To protect the Grove from an imminent attack, he wishes the three leaders of the goblin camp dead and he will not get out of harm’s way until that is done. And from there, you’ll have to play it Agent 47.

Save the bear, save the world

how to kill haruspia

To avoid disaster, it is better not to attack your targets blindly. And especially : don’t take Halsin with you. Leave it quietly warm in the room where you rescued it. There is no risk and you will find him when everything is settled. His death would be far too serious for the sequel and you won’t need him to eliminate your enemies anyway.

The 3 enemies to defeat, in order: the priestess Haruspia, the Drow Minthara and the Dror Ragzlin.

Everyone is well surrounded and it seems impossible to attack them without triggering the alert. A good strategy will therefore be necessary.

Let’s start with Haruspia. The goblin priestess will be the easiest to fool of the three commanders. Once you talk to her and she detects the Illithid larva in you, she will gladly agree to follow you to an isolated room to talk to you. You will have to eliminate her before she can call for help. A sneak attack behind his back or explosive barrels previously placed in the room may be enough.

First target: Haruspia

how to kill Minthara

Once the goblin is neutralized, all you have to do is go see Minthara, as if nothing had happened. This one is in her office, still fuming in hopes of finding the location of the Emerald Grove. In addition to his minions, two threats surround him: a surveillance eye that floats in the air and a war drum which can be used to call for reinforcements. Difficult to attack the Drow without it turning sour. Fortunately, to defeat it quickly and out of sight, we also have the solution.

Let’s play his game in him first giving the location of the Grove so she can launch her attack. A risky bet at first glance, but which will quickly pay off. Upon acquiring this information, Minthara will start moving, and she will thus cross a small footbridge placed above the void in her office. So don’t hesitate to switch to “turn-by-turn” mode to anticipate the moment when it will stick there. Immediately, use your character with the most strength to to push Minthara into the voidbefore she even saw the blow coming.

It’s even better if you can rush Minthara and his eye in the gap using a shockwave. Two birds with one stone. Anyway, it will then be necessary quickly make the witnesses of the attack disappear. The best is if one of your allies blocks access to the drum and can defend it.

Second target: Minthara

how to kill Ragzlin

Once the situation is resolved, there will only remain Ragzlin to make disappear. Know that the worst is already over. Ungroup your strongest character and send all others to join Halsin.

Ragzlin sits on a throne opposite his fanatics. Bad luck for him (but luck for us), a wide ditch stands right next to him. You understood, we will use the same method here as with Minthara.

Once your companion will have pushed Ragzlin into the void (he can try again several times without fear), the rest of your group is already with the druid to tell him the good news. He will then finally run away, without worry, while your heroes will only have to teleport to get away from the mess. Mission accomplished.

And finally, the third target: Ragzlin

save the emerald grove

Oh wait… And what about our companion who stayed with the goblins after the elimination of Ragzlin?

It will indeed be difficult for him to run away or defeat the melee in which he is stuck. To be honest, our dear Karlach died in this operation… But that too, we had planned! What better means of extraction than a detour through death?

Back at your camp, all you need to do is talk to Withered (the lich you meet at the ruins not far from the Nautiloid) and buy him the resurrection of your sacrificed companion.

Haslin will be able to bring peace to his family

Once your team is complete (with 200 coins less, but that’s a detail), it’s time to reap the rewards of your successful plan. Halsin is safe and the goblins no longer have a commander. The Emerald Grove is saved and you will be celebrated as a hero with a beautiful party. Halsin can then join you for the rest of the adventure… And here is a plan that went (almost) without a hitch.
