Dark red ? Fushia pink ? Electric blue ?
Last February (just before the release of the yellow iPhone 14s), some American media had heard of a new blood red dress exclusive
for iPhone 15 Pro. This rumor surfaces again on Weibo, also mentioning a new green shade dedicated to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Note that this is the same account that unveiled the Deep Purple color of the iPhone 14 Pro!
For some years, Apple offers a specific shade for each generation, with slightly more worked and matte tones for the Pro models. Thus, the iPhone 12 Pro was offered in Pacific Blue, the iPhone 13 Pro in Midnight Green or Alpine Blue, and the iPhone 14 Pro in a fabulous intense purple.
This fantasy allows the passage of differentiate between iPhones from one year to the next, when the design changes become too subtle, unless you’re a Mac4ever fan, geek, or avid reader.
According to the hexadecimal code (#410D0D) discovered by our American colleagues, it would be a shade darker than the RED version, with a hint of vermilion / sienna. To this would also be added two colors in test that could dress the iPhone 15: a rather punchy blue and pink.
What to expect from the iPhone 15?
For 2023, the iPhone 15 Pro would be equipped with a A17 Bionic chip engraved in 3 nm by TSMC, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus of an A16 Bionic. But the big novelty would obviously be the switch from Lightning to USB-C, making it possible to get ahead of the new European standards.
All models – whose production seems to have started – would have a Snapdragon X70 modem from Qualcomm and more RAM (8 GB against 6 currently for Pro models). Finally, they would also be equipped with a 48-megapixel photo sensor, or even a periscope lens system for the Pro Max (Ultra). According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max should gain autonomy and obtain a faster transfer speed, which would be very practical for sending -for example- large ProRaw files or videos in 4K (and more ).
In addition Apple should accentuate the differences between the Pro and non-Pro models. Thus the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus would therefore not benefit from the same display technologies as the Pro (no LTPO, no variable refresh rate up to 120Hz) and would not integrate ProMotion or always-on display.
The design changes would be subtle but nonetheless present. After three years of straight edges, it looks like Apple is returning to curved edges, in a titanium frame that’s said to be slimmer. The screen would not be curved (but all flat) and would keep the same dimensions. The Dynamic Island would finally be generalized to all models in the range. The iPhone 15 could have new buttons with haptic feedback (and two Taptic Engines)
