We could have had a brand new Horizon game, but PlayStation decided to cancel it before even announcing it. This is what Korean media MTN tells us today. It was aboutan MMO set in the universe of the saga Horizoncodenamed Project Skyline (or Project H according to some sources). The title would have been in development since 2022 if rumors are to be believed. But this is the end of the road for the project which will ultimately not see the light of day.
Indeed, PlayStation recently decided to sort out its plans, and canceled several online multiplayer games to focus on solo adventures. Among the collateral damage, we include the famous Project H which had not yet been revealed by the firm. It is not yet known if the game was in an advanced stage of development or if it was only in the early stages of its conception. However, we know that the title did not pass the feasibility examination stage.
The disappointments pile up
For all these years, it is believed that the project was in the hands of NCSoft, a Korean video game development and publishing company. It has been in partnership with PlayStation studios since 2023 and was intended to help the manufacturer in particular “create new games using Sony's intellectual property of promising games” as well as “expand the PlayStation universe beyond the console and expand its reach to a wider audience.”
The MTN media declares that the “H and J projects have already disappeared from the company’s organizational chart.” The million dollar question is: what was Project J? Unfortunately, no details are available on this title, which was also deleted before its announcement.
-Horizon soon on our screens
Will players have the opportunity to dive back into Aloy's world soon? A third opus is already rumored to be in preparation by Guerrilla Games. A logical continuation given the cliffhanger at the end ofHorizon Forbidden West. Let's not forget that a television series is also in the works. Production was entrusted to Netflix and should therefore logically land on its platform when it is finalized. It's already been almost 3 years since it was made official, so it's only a matter of months before we have news of the project… if it isn't canceled by then.
