“Honestly, it's a real success ! » The Bordeaux wine route in Graves and Sauternes is happy with its event. Wednesday January 15, 2025, this professional networkof the wine and tourist world of the south of Bordeaux, in Gironde, organized a meeting between 50 wine châteaux and travel agencies .
The objective? Sell their best wine tourism destination, spread over an area stretching from Léognan, in the north, to Bazas, in the south.
Presentation of the Bordeaux Wine Route in Graves and Sauternes
The Bordeaux wine route in Graves and Sauternes brings together three wine unions and two tourist offices in the south of Bordeaux. It promotes the wine tourism offer on its territory. It brings together 90 wine châteaux including 41 classified grand crus, and numerous tourism professionals.
Recently, the Wine Route has also moved towards business-to-business commerce, or B to B (for business to business), in order to better sell your destination.
We've been promoting our offer for 15 years, but now we would also like to sell it to travel agencies.
Professional morning at the Château de Cérons
In this context, she proposed a 'Wine Route Workshop' day on Wednesday January 15, 2025, at the Château de Cérons, proud representative of the new wine tourism offer in the region.
Concretely, it was “a professional morning meeting to develop the business”, with a conferencea doctoral student specializing in wine tourism and a speedmetting .
250 meetings between professionals
This second part was an opportunity for the 25 wine châteaux and tourism professionals selected to meet the 25 travel agencies from Bordeaux present. “Every seven minutes, the representatives of the châteaux changed tables and presented their offer,” explains Johanna Renaux, head of the Wine Route.
This speed meeting generated 250 meetings and allowed the highlighting of certain offers known or unknown to travel agencies.
It is important to be sold by these agencies which, today, sell more than three quarters of their trips to Saint-Émilion and the Médoc. Here too, we have a card to play in quality personalized tourism.
A second edition?
The organizer of the event speaks of a great successcollective and cites very positive feedback: “The people, both on the castle side and on the Bordeaux agency side, were really delighted and asked for a second edition. »
While waiting for this second part, the Route des Graves sees in its meetings between professionals the future of their tourist destination.
