This weekend the last day of the group stage will be played to decide the rest of the table during the good weather. For us, Union Bordeaux-Bègles is on track to score a nice 20 points out of 20 possible while the CO, which is going to Stone X Stadium, has the opportunity to create a huge surprise.
Bulls – French Stadium
The great reaction that we predicted took place for Stade Français last week and it gave them their first victory in the competition. The trip to South Africa promises to be tricky, although the Bulls have still not won. The journey and especially the deadline which will follow this day – a match which smells of gunpowder in Vannes – is not necessarily in favor of the Pink Soldiers. With a reshuffled team, Paul Gustard's protégés should lose in this long trip.
Our prediction: victory for the Bulls
Clermont – Bristol
ASM, fifth in the group, has five points. A victory is essential to hope to gain positions in this group 2. There is no need to think knowing that Clermontois' opponents will play after them: win, with the bonus if possible, and hope for results in their favor. However, the dynamic is not really in favor of the Jaunards (four defeats in the last five matches with a one-point success in Vannes).
Our prediction: victory for Clermont
Treviso – La Rochelle
Stade Rochelais must be chewed. Defeated against Leinster in a match of terrible intensity, Ronan O'Gara's men travel to Treviso to secure their second place. A success in Treviso will not be so simple, against a team full of Italian internationals and which beat Bath (22-21). The Rochelais seem a cut above and a victory for this last day is expected.
Our prediction: victory for La Rochelle
Racing 92 – Stormers
Racing is last in its group with four points, the Stormers have just one more. In the Paris La Défense Arena, Stuart Lancaster's men will try to win to overtake the South Africans and regain a positive dynamic. The Stormers come with intentions and, depending on the result of Harlequins – Glasgow, they could reach third place.
Our prediction: Racing 92 wins, offensive bonus for both teams
-Bordeaux – Sharks
The best team in Europe at the moment, in the lead with 15 points taken out of 15 possible, hosts the Sharks. The 20/20 is in the sights of the Girondins to maintain the lead of group 1, then within shooting distance of the Toulouse who will host Leicester. Victory is obviously expected but the offensive bonus is crucial not to let Toulouse be master of its destiny.
Our prediction: Bordeaux victory with the offensive bonus
Toulouse – Leicester
Is Toulouse more dangerous than when he is chasing a goal? The one in first place is obviously a goal but it will not depend on them (as explained above). Whatever happens, it would be crazy to think that Ugo Mola's men will put their foot on the pedal. Regardless of the UBB result, the Stadium will try to take five points against Leicester who are also already qualified.
Our prediction: victory for Toulouse with the offensive bonus
Saracens – Castres
The most open group is here. The Sarries are currently third with ten points, one length ahead of Castres. Depending on the result of Northampton – Munster the day before, Xavier Sadourny's men could make a big move and why not find themselves second in an ideal scenario. However, the task promises to be very (very) tough at Stone X Stadium but the CO players have said it: they want to play this competition to the fullest. It's up to them to show it once again. We are trying the enormous Castres surprise with courage.
Our prediction: victory for Castres
Sale – Toulon
The RCT currently walks on water. Already qualified, it is crucial for Mignoni's men to win to retain this coveted first place. The day before, there will be a Harlequins – Glasgow match which will count in their calculations of the offensive bonus or not, depending on whether the Warriors win in London with the bonus. Sale will also play his qualification but the fact remains that the Varois are confident and will want to conclude their great European group stage in the lead.
Our prediction: victory for Toulon
