This electric truck is offered in three versions, including two that are more suitable for vehicle fleets. The other, the RST, is more luxurious.
In addition to the price, one of the main differences between these versions is that the 3WT and 4WT will not have the Multi-flex central tailgate with the access hatch, as in the RST. This feature allows you to transport long objects, such as boards.
The Silverado EV’s body is short and its finish is reminiscent of what we saw at Honda with its first-generation Ridgeline truck. But like the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Silverado EV also has a front trunk with 302 liters of cargo volume.
Where the Chevrolet Silverado EV is interesting is in terms of range and towing capacity.
In the first case, the distance that can be covered with a full battery charge varies between 632 and 724 kilometers. The 3WT version has a 170 kilowatt-hour battery, compared to 205 kWh for higher versions.
And as for the towing capacity, this varies between 4535 and 5670 kg (10,000 and 12,500 lb), depending on the version.
Retail pricing for the Silverado EV starts at $67,625. But it can climb quickly. There are no government discounts for individuals.
The author would like to thank Sébastien Bolduc, general manager of St-Georges GM, for allowing this test of the Chevrolet Silverado EV.
