Léon recently made his live debut at an intimate 220-seat venue in Beverly Hills. For the occasion, both of his parents were present in the audience. Imagine their pride when their son performed songs like a Vianney cover. But be careful, no question of calling him “Léon Bruel”. On stage, he is now known as Léon Hesby.
The choice of this pseudonym is a family nod: “Hesby” comes from the initials “S” and “B”, in reference to his parents, Amanda Sthers and Patrick Bruel. A subtle homage, and above all, a name that sounds more “American”.
If the young artist looks like his father in his youth, his musical style is completely different. Forget French ballads like “So look” or “Place des grands hommes”. Léon turns to a pop-dance universe, mainly in English. His single “Say to Me” is the perfect example: a rhythmic atmosphere, catchy choreography, and already several thousand views on YouTube.
Léon never hid his admiration for his father. At four years old, he attended Patrick Bruel’s concerts and was fascinated by the energy of the audience. Today, it’s up to him to try to create this magic on stage.
