the smart mirror that analyzes your skin and recommends your skincare products

Using its MicroLED smart mirror, Samsung analyzed my skin and told me exactly which skin care products I should buy to enhance my skin.

Tl;dr

  • Samsung’s MicroLED smart mirror assesses the skin.
  • It offers beauty products tailored to the user’s needs.
  • This technology is currently only a concept.

Samsung’s MicroLED smart mirror: a high-tech beauty advisor

Technology is taking an increasingly important part in our daily lives, to the point of intruding into areas we never expected. Take your skincare routine for example. Samsung offers a revolutionary solution for those who are lost in the face of the infinite number of products available: a MicroLED smart mirror capable of assessing the condition of your skin and offering you the most suitable products.

By bringing your face closer to the screen, it takes a photo and analyze your skin on four criteria: wrinkles, pigmentation, pores and erythema. This image-based diagnostic technology is supposed to be coupled with a small moisture-detecting gadget that you swipe over your skin, although the latter was not available during the demonstration.

Once the analysis is completed, the screen displays a series of branded productswith specific details on why they might benefit your skin. For example, for me, he suggested the innisfree brand hyaluronic acid and green tea seed cream.

A promising technology, but not yet available

Although this technology is impressive, you shouldn’t rush to buy it. Indeed, this MicroLED intelligent mirror is currently only a concept. It was presented as a potential application of MicroLED technology, illustrating Samsung’s capabilities in this area. However, we hope that this innovation will be commercialized in the near future.

In the meantime, we can still dream of a future where we no longer have to wonder which beauty product to choose. All you have to do is look in the mirror.
