Less than a month after releasing iOS 18.2, Apple is releasing a new update to its operating system: iOS 18.2.1. While iOS 18.2 brought quite a few new features, especially for Apple Intelligence users, iOS 18.2.1 can be considered a (very) minor update to the operating system.
However, if you want to be sure that your iPhone is working properly, you should install this update as soon as possible. Indeed, in the description of iOS 18.2.1, Apple explains that this version of its operating system includes important bug fixes, and is recommended for all users.
New features will arrive later
iOS 18.2.1 is released while Apple is already preparing another update: iOS 18.3. And this should bring a little more new features for iPhone users. As we mentioned in a previous article, iOS 18.3 is already beta tested and, among the new features that Apple is preparing, there is the compatibility of the Home application with robot vacuum cleaners that support HomeKit. In principle, this update should be released this first quarter of 2025.
Otherwise, information is also circulating about the future iOS 18.4 update which could make AirPods headphones “smarter”. However, the most anticipated iOS update for iPhone users in the EU is the one that will finally allow them to take advantage of Apple Intelligence. As a reminder, Apple Intelligence is still blocked in the European Union, for reasons of compliance with the Digital Markets Act. However, Apple has already indicated that it is working on it and will make EU iPhones and iPads compatible with Apple Intelligence starting in April.
