With their flattened and rounded appearance, robot vacuum cleaners have become useful companions in many homes. They do what no one likes to do, but always stumble or avoid whatever is lying on the floor, leaving areas uncleaned.

To address this problem, here is the arrival of a new type of robot vacuum cleaner: the Saros Z70 from Roborock. It was previewed at CES 2025. In addition to cleaning floors, it… tidies up. To do this, a robotic arm comes out of its hood and its gripper grabs the object to be picked up provided that it weighs no more than 300 grams. He will then place it in a predefined location, for example a small basket placed, just like him, on the ground.

A robotic gripper

Baptized OmniGripthe robotic arm with its gripper is animated on five axes. The robot should be marketed for around 1,500 euros during the first half of the year. During its presentation, the robot demonstrated to the journalists present its ability to pick up socks.

For the moment, the sarossaros Z70 can detect up to 108 objects representing as many obstacles. He can only pick up a small number from this list such as socks, towels, pieces of paper or slippers. Future updates should allow it to expand its capabilities. Oh yes… Of course, the robot also knows how to vacuum up dust and wash the floor.
