Galatasaray is determined to recruit a striker this winter. The priority target was the Lyonnais Mikautadze. However, OL refuse to give up their Georgian. This pushes the Turks to look at Amine Gouiri (Rennes).
No sales for Galatasaray at Olympique Lyonnais. The club owned by John Textor refuses to sell Georges Mikautadze to Galatasaray despite an offer of 21 million euros and the liquidity problems of the Rhodanians. The Turkish club, however, has not finished its attacking tour of France. According to the journalist of Foot Market Santi Aouna, the Stambouliotes are now targeting Rennes striker Amine Gouiri. The Algerian is having a difficult season in Brittany, having scored only 2 goals in Ligue 1. Sometimes placed on the bench by Julien Stéphan, he does not yet benefit from the total confidence of Jorge Sampaoli.
However, the Gouiri file will not be simpler for Galatasaray than that of Mikautadze. Rennes will not easily let go of a player under contract until 2027 and who had been bought for 28 million euros from Nice. Galatasaray are not on the same price level, wanting to get the Algerian international back on loan for the moment. Not sure that this will be enough for Rennes when the Bretons had refused great German offers for the 24-year-old striker last summer.
