Here is the latest signed by its subsidiary Samsung Display, which concerns new Oled technologies. Not for TVs or smartphones, but for mobile device screens and in vehicles which are likely to be found in many products in 2025.
Samsung Display believes in Oled everywhere
First, Samsung Display unveiled an 18.1-inch foldable Oled screen. Folded, it transforms into a 13.1-inch touchscreen computer screen. It is also possible to plug in a keyboard and use it as a simple screen. This is the successor to the same type of product unveiled in 2022, which was then “only” 17.3 inches unfolded.
Next comes the Samsung Display Slidable Flex Duet. Ranging in size from 8.1 to 12.4 inches, this screen designed for vehicles can therefore vary its size on both sides depending on use.
The Slidable Flex Solo can do the same thing, but on just one side, to vary its dimensions between 13 and 17.3 inches.
Same thing for the Slideable Flex Vertical, but, as you will have understood, vertically this time, between 5.1 and 6.7 inches. It is reminiscent of the Motorola smartphone concept, the Rizr, in rollable format.
The QD-Oled is not forgotten
Finally, at CES 2025 Samsung Display will show its new QD-OLled products. This will include monitors, but also new TVs capable of reaching a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. A robot dog, called OLEDog, will also be there, because why not. Beyond having Oled eyes, this robot will dance and jump on Oled panels to prove its durability.
