During the interview, the spark in the eyes, the knowing looks and the contagious enthusiasm between Jean Provost, Maxime Provost and Majed Bitar quickly confirmed that the secret of their entrepreneurial success is based on a fundamental value: their dedication to well-being of patients. It is this authentic bond and this shared passion that makes them a strong team, ready to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving profession, while ensuring their patients receive quality care, focused on innovative solutions. .
The pharmacy embodies a family business model where human values are emphasized both in the customer approach and in the management of the business. It was Jean Provost, founder of the company, who laid the foundations of a pharmacy where patients are never seen as simple customers, but as individuals to be taken care of with kindness.
Since 1975, I have been dragging my boat, trying to give the best of myself to make our profession shine. During all these years, I have witnessed paradigm shifts in the profession, but it is important for me to stay positive and face the music by being proactive and at the forefront of the changes.

An inspiring model
A visionary at heart, Jean Provost remains convinced that the profession must evolve with the times while remaining open-minded and on the lookout for technological advances. The latter also contributed to the creation of an innovative solution to improve patient safety with the Securdose system, the ancestor of pill dispensers. It also introduced robotization into its pharmacies well before it became the norm. “Technology is at the center of innovation and it is the future! It has the power to reorganize our work thanks to the quality of the information which acts as a complement to identify problems more quickly, while relying on our professional judgment. We must not be resistant to change, but being open is the key to patient care,” he argues enthusiastically.
His innovative spirit and commitment to the health field have allowed him to distinguish himself within his profession. His involvement in the community was rewarded with the Louis-Hébert Prize, the highest distinction that a pharmacist can receive in Quebec. Mr. Provost served for 21 years on the board of directors of the Order of Pharmacists of Quebec. He was also the founding president of Info-Crime Brome-Missisquoi/Haute-Yamaska, president of Epilepsie Montérégie for 10 years, president of the Commercial Development Corporation (formerly SIDAC) of Granby, and more.
Inspired by Jean Provost, the two shareholders are also keen to get involved in their community. Maxime is actively involved in the training of future pharmacists. She is a tutor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Montreal and a clinical instructor at Laval University. She also sits on the Montérégie Regional Committee on Pharmaceutical Services, where she works to optimize patients’ pharmacotherapy. “We have a role to play in improving health services, and it is by joining forces that we will succeed in making our voice heard,” says Maxime.
Majed is involved in the Yamaska Regional Solidarity Committee (SERY) where he wants to make a difference for newcomers who integrate the Quebec health system.
A team that complements each other
Maxime Provost joined the company as pharmacist-owner on June 1, 2022, while Majed Bitar has been a business partner for eight years now. The trio of shareholders, from three generations of pharmacists, bring different but complementary perspectives. “Jean, with his inexhaustible energy, is a source of inspiration. He embodies values that resonate with me and that is why I chose to work alongside him,” mentions Majed Bitar, considered by Mr. Provost as his adopted son.
-To the question: what is it like working with father and daughter? The trio burst out laughing! “My father and I have a more explosive temperament and we express ourselves with conviction. Majed is a quiet force who brings great balance to our team. It is not without challenges, since we sometimes have different ideas, but the important thing is that we all share the same vision: a commitment to our patients and a constant desire to do better,” says Maxime Provost. .
Maxime and Majed embody the next generation and join Jean Provost in his resolutely modern vision for the future of pharmacy. Maxime Provost grew up in the pharmacy environment and is determined to continue the work started by her father.
I have a special affection for the people here, and this pharmacy is like a second home for me. I feel blessed to be able to practice this profession and to occupy an important place in the lives of patients who choose us as pharmacists. We are fortunate to be able to count on a competent team and it is important to highlight the strengths of each person. .

Trusted partners in business and for the health of their patients, the trio looks to the future with optimism, continuing to nourish these human values and ready to take on new challenges.
